Polynomials are expressions with two or more expressions.
And no I do not mean these expressions :) :( :!
I mean Functions.
For example if the roots given are (x-3) and (x+6) then you can use F.O.I.L (First, Outer, Inner, Last).
So this is how it would look:
So x*x=X^2
-3*6=-18
6*x=6x
-3*x=-3x
NOW COMBINE LIKE TERMS:
-3x+6x=3x
Full equation would then be X^2+3x-18

So like I mentioned in the first form of this post there are two ways to use the trigonometric functions Sine, Cosine, and Tangent. The second way is finding angles.
It is similar to the process of finding the side lengths but you need to use the inverse of these trigonometric functions. Each one looks like this:
Sine-1
Cosine-1
Tangent-1
You can only use this if there are two or more side lengths already there.
For example:
Here you have the side lengths for opposite and adjacent (7 and 8). So using the inverse of Tangent since opposite and adjacent are being used this can be solved.
Now instead of putting in an angle since there is none to put you put in the two side lengths you are going to use.
First Linear Equations give straight lines when plotted on any graph.
Here are the parts of a linear equation
y=mx+b
Y will be the answer you will soon recieve.
M is your slope
X is the variable that is placed there meaning you can put any number in that area.
B is the y-intercept. It never changes.
Lets get started with creating a linear equation by using a word problem.
First we know that to start off an equation we use y=.
Next we know that we have 75 dollars that will be our B or our y-intercept for that will never change.
Now 12 dollars is added each week. That is our slope or M.
X will stand for the number of weeks.
So lets put that together. Remember to start of with y=. Y=12x+75
This is our equation needed to find out how much money we will have in 10 weeks.
Now remember how I said you could plug any number in for x. Well lets try 10 since x does stand for the number of weeks and once again we are looking for the amount of money we will get at 10 weeks.
So lets plug it in y=12(10)+75 which is $195.00
First the thing you need to know is that SOH-CAH-TOA is an acronym.
SOH stands for Sine=opposite over hypotenuse.
CAH stands for Cosine=Adjacent over hypotenuse.
TOA stands for Tangent=Opposite over adjacent.
I promise this will make sense soon.....
Sine,Cosine, and Tangent are Trigonemetric Functions used to calculate side lengths and angles of a RIGHT TRIANGLE when few measurements are shown.
Here's a little picture to help you know what side is opposite, which side is adjacent, and which side is the hypotenuse in a right triangle.
An example of using trignometric functions:
First there are two ways of using SOH-CAH-TOA.
One way is for finding side lengths.
EXAMPLE:
The pythagorean theorem is relatively easy once you get the hang of it. First knowing the equation
A2+B2=C2 is very important when using the Pythagorean theorem. Here's a little example before you click on the video to understand how to use it a little better.
Step 1: So here you see that leg 1 is labeled 3 and leg 2 is labeled 4. What we are trying to find is x which is the hypotenuse. Using the equation above you can find the hypotenuse. Leg 1 would be A. Leg 2 would be B, and X would be they hypotenuse.
Step 2: Plug in the numbers into the equation. 32+42=X2
Step 3: Solve. 3*3=9; 4*4=16 (16+9=25) Then find the square root of the sum. Ö25=5.
